Debate FAQ

What’s the format of debating we teach?

Our program combined Model United Nations and BP debate,

Model United Nations and British Parliamentary Debate are both academic activities centered around discussing some of the most pressing issues of our contemporary world. Success depends putting aside your pre-existing biases and advocating for the position that you are assigned. Both activities have the capacity to open your eyes to a wider range of issues and viewpoints, and, if one puts in the effort, are immensely fulfilling in terms of awards and knowledge gained.

Though the formats are quite different, the fundamentals are very similar. Given this, if BP and Model UN are done in tandem, predictably you will have more success in both. Even though most people choose between the two activities, the skills learned in Model UN are easily transferable to debate, and vice versa. The following article is an analysis of why they are complementary and how to use these advantages effectively.

How many levels for our debating program?

5 level program for our program. Considering the requirement from students we can extend the program to level 6/7 。In level 5, we will split MUN and BP Debate, but introduce WSDC debating into program.

We run a debate camp three times per year during winter, spring and summer breaks. Camps are structured around students’ experience levels and tournament needs, to ensure that everyone gets the most out of each session. Our debate camps are uniquely valuable because they provide students with high quantity of teaching and practice hours within a few number of days. Anyone is able to attend camps

Tournaments are hosted locally, regionally, nationally and internationally throughout the year. All students can sign up for debate tournaments, provided that they meet the tournament’s requirements.
